REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL RELATING TO
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
FOR GROUNDWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES
FOR THE EAST GREENWICH WELL
Sealed Proposals for Professional Engineering Consulting Services to provide design, bidding and construction services related to groundwater treatment facilities for the Kent County Water Authority will be received by the Kent County Water Authority at their offices located at 1072 Main Street, West Warwick, Rhode Island 02893 until 10:00 a.m. prevailing time,on November 18, 2019 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work consists of providing directly to the Kent County Water Authority, Professional Engineering and Architectural Design Consultant services to provide treatment facility design, contract documents and contract administration services related to the construction of treatment facilities at the existing Kent County Water Authority groundwater production facilities located in the city of Warwick. The overall design must incorporate contingencies as necessary and required to facilitate the use of the existing rehabilitated well facilities in conjunction with treatment facility design work.
This project is all encompassing and requires varied engineering disciplines to complete the project. The Engineering firm or team must be multi-disciplined (geotechnical, structural, architectural, environmental, civil,instrumentation, process, electrical, and mechanical) with a minimum of 5 years experience in all aspects of potable water system design, treatment system processes and facility construction design. Request for Proposal submittal requirements and selection criteria can be obtained at the offices of the Kent County Water Authority on or after October 18, 2019.
A pre-proposal conference shall be held at the offices of the Kent County Water Authority at 10:00 a.m., prevailing time, on October 28, 2019. A tour of the existing site facilities will be provided. All prospective proposers must attend the pre-proposal conference, as it becomes a condition of proposing this project. The Kent County Water Authority will not accept any Proposal for opening, submitted by a proposer that does not attend the pre-proposal conference.
Request for Proposals documents may be picked up in person at the office of the Kent County Water Authority. Proposers will be furnished one set of Request for Proposal Documents. Additional sets may be purchased for a fee of$20.00. Proposers requesting Request for Proposal Documents by mail shall forward a non-refundable check (payable to the "Kent County Water Authority") in the amount of $20.00 per set to cover the costs of handling and mailing. Mailing will be First Class U.S. Postal Rate only.
Each Proposal shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Proposers.
No Proposer may withdraw their proposal or any parts for a period of 90 days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays after the actual date of the opening of the Request for Proposals.
The Kent County Water Authority reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any and all Proposals, or parts thereof, if deemed to be in their best interest.
